Woody Pruitt, KLEC Polygraph Examiner I

The Kentucky Law Enforcement Council would like to welcome its newest member to our staff, Woody Pruitt. Woody was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky. He is married with three children, Shanna Branham who is an elementary school teacher, Kolt Pruitt who is completing medical school and doing rotations in the Lexington area and Kassady Pruitt who is a registered nurse in Surgery at the Pikeville Medical Center.

Woody worked in corrections for five years at the Pike County Detention Center. He later accepted a job with the Pikeville Police Department where he served faithfully for 22 ½ years. He retired in 2012 from the Pikeville Police Department at the rank of Captain. During Woody’s tenure with the Pikeville Police Department, he was able to expand his resume for training. He completed traffic reconstruction school in 1998 and attended the 197th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia in 1999.

In 2006, he completed the KIPS Program (Kentucky Institute for Polygraph Studies) hosted by the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond, Kentucky and conducted criminal and pre-employment polygraph tests for several agencies in the eastern Kentucky region. He completed the PCSOT (Post Convicted Sex Offender Testing) training in Annapolis, Maryland and completed his senior examiners course in polygraph in Nashville, Tennessee at the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations. During his course of training throughout his career, he has completed over 5,000 classroom hours of training in many aspects of law enforcement.

Following his retirement, Woody joined the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council as a Polygraph Examiner I in September 2019. The Kentucky Law Enforcement Council staff welcomes Woody Pruitt to our family.
