Hiring process to achieve Peace Officer Professional Standards (POPS)

  1. Phase I Registration

    • Test scheduling is automated in LETRS (Law Enforcement Training & Reporting System). To schedule an applicant, you will need to request tests in the Pre-Certification Test Requests, which can be found under Forms> Precert Testing. Test sites and driving directions are available on LETRS or the KLEC website. Please print out directions and provide them to your applicant. The PHQ (Personal History Questionnaire) for suitability screener testing will be available one week prior to a scheduled test event under the documents band of the individuals Pre-Certification Testing Request in LETRS.  Your applicant should have a photo ID and, if taking the physical agility test, a completed T1 and a T1A (if they answered yes to any of the questions 1-10 on the T1 form) with them on the day of the test.

    • Minimum Background Attested

  6. Phase II Registration

  7. Phase II Testing

Once you have all Phase I test results (including downloading the suitability screener results from LESI’s website), you will schedule your applicant for Phase II testing. Test sites and driving directions are available on LETRS or the KLEC website. Please print out directions and provide them to your applicant. Your applicant should have a completed Form I-2-Polygraph Questionnaire and a photo ID with them on the test day.

    • Provide Forms G-1, G-2, G-3 to your physician for completion
