November 15, 2018 was a day of celebration but also a of day sadness. The Kentucky Law Enforcement Council celebrated Sheriff Keith Cain’s long reigning legacy on the Council by distinguishing him as the 2018 recipient of the Melvin Shein award. It was also his last day serving on the council.

Sheriff Cain has served the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council (KLEC) for 16 years. During those years, he has served as council chair and certification committee chair. To sum up Sheriff Cain’s service in a quote, “Every leader needs to have experienced and grown through following — learning to be dedicated, observant, and capable of working with and learning from others, never servile, always truthful. Having located these qualities in himself, he can encourage them in others.” – Warren G. Bennis.
