Johnny Bivens

Sheriff Johnny Bivens was elected to his 4th term as the Lewis County Sheriff.  Sheriff Bivens began his law enforcement career in 1997 with the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.  He was appointed Chief Deputy in 2008 and first elected as Sheriff in 2010.  Sheriff Bivens was named Kentucky Sheriff of the Year in 2015 and was recently elected to serve as 3rd Vice President of the Kentucky Sheriffs' Association. Sheriff Bivens graduated from Lewis County High School, attended Morehead State University, and graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice, Basic Class 259.

Sheriff Bivens holds several law enforcement certifications and serves on numerous boards and committees.  During his first term in office, he conducted Operation March Madness, which arrested approximately 50 drug traffickers. Since then, his office has arrested hundreds of individuals trafficking illegal narcotics.  He started the first Drug K-9 Program in the history of the Lewis County Sheriff's Office and strived to provide his staff with the most up-to-date equipment to do their jobs more efficiently.

Sheriff Bivens is a dual member of St. Mary's 240 and Stone City 963 Masonic Lodges. He, his wife, Tonia, and his son, Hunter, attend Vanceburg First Baptist Church.

Sheriff Bivens serves on the Curriculum Committee.
