William “Chip” Nowlin

William Nowlin is currently serving as President of the Kentucky Peace Officers Association after serving in various positions on the Executive Board for approximately 4 years. Nowlin has over 31 years of law enforcement experience that started in 1981 with the U.S. Army Military Police. He served honorably until his discharge in early 1989. Nowlin started his civilian law enforcement career in 1989 with the now defunct Woodford County Police where he worked for 2 years until an opportunity arose to work for the Georgetown Police Department (3 years). Nowlin then went to the Lexington Police Department where he worked mostly as a patrol officer for 18 years until retirement in August 2012. Nowlin is also President of the Gari Stewart Nowlin Foundation which is a charity that assists underprivileged children to play organized baseball. He serves on the Instructor Certification Committee.
