Steve Conrad is the Police Chief of the Louisville Metro Police Department. He began his career in 1980, as a patrol officer with the Louisville Division of Police and worked his way through the ranks before being named Assistant Police Chief in 2003. Career highlights include managing the merger of the city and county police departments and leading community policing efforts in the late 1990’s. Conrad left the Louisville Metro Police Department to become the Police Chief in Glendale, Arizona in December 2005. Significant accomplishments with that department include successfully planning for and managing a number of high profile sporting events including the annual Fiesta Bowl and Super Bowl XLII (42). Chief Conrad received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Police Administration and a Master of Science Degree in Community Development, both from the University of Louisville. He currently serves on the Professional Standards Committee.
