Bowling Green Law Enforcement Academy News

The Bowling Green Law Enforcement Academy (BG LEA) is celebrating its first year as Kentucky’s newest police academy. They graduated their first class of 11 recruits on November 6, 2020. Their second class of recruits began basic training in April of this year and is slated to graduate in October 2021.

Major Charles Casey who has led the academy since its inception retired at the end of May. KLEC would like to thank him for his service to law enforcement and training and congratulate him on his retirement. The BG LEA staff surprised him with a trip to Richmond to hang their academy seal on the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council’s wall of Certified Academies.
