As of January 1, 2019, if you are a certified peace officer, telecommunicator or court security officer and you have not completed your 2018 in-service requirement, you are considered training deficient. You may request an extension for 2018 training. If the extension is granted, you will have until June 30, 2018 to complete your in-service training requirement. If an extension has not been requested and granted, peace officers and court security officers have no peace officer powers of arrest until the training deficiency is corrected. It is important to check via Acadis, your training for 2018.
The Kentucky Law Enforcement Council Support Staff is currently reviewing training to verify certification status. We have found several delinquencies not only for the training year of 2018 but previous years. Delinquencies previous to 2018 mean that peace officers and court security officers have no peace officers powers of arrest until these delinquencies are corrected. The time has passed for these years to receive an extension.
If you have any questions concerning your training or certification after verifying it via Acadis, contact our office at (859) 622-6218 or via email.
