Joseph Vorbeck

Captain Joey Vorbeck is the Commander of the Kentucky State Police Academy. In June of 2008, Joey was hired by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and completed his basic training at the Department of Criminal Justice Training. Joey served three years on patrol with the Sheriff’s Department. In May of 2011, Joey attended the Kentucky State Police Academy and was initially assigned as a Trooper at the Ashland Post. In 2014, he was transferred to his home post of Richmond.

During his career, he served on the Marijuana Eradication Program, Executive Security Detail, as Detective Sergeant, as Lieutenant in the Internal Affairs Branch, and currently as Captain at the Kentucky State Police Academy.

Over the course of his career, Joey has been recognized by receiving two (2) “KSP Citation for Meritorious Service, with a “V” for Valor,” and several letters of appreciation from within and outside of his department.

Joey is married to Anna Vorbeck and resides in Madison County. He serves on the Curriculum Committee.
