Dennis Hippert

KLEC would like to congratulate the Southern Police Institute's new Associate Director, Dennis Hippert. Dennis was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dennis served the Washoe County Sheriff's Office in Reno, Nevada for 23 years. He brings with him a tremendous amount of operational and management experience, as well as profound engagement in policing research and strategy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Administration from Herzing University, a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Louisville and is finishing his PhD in Criminal Justice at Nova Southeastern University. Dennis is also a graduate of SPI's Administrative Officer's Course, hailing from the 141st Class! Dennis will be managing the Continuing Education aspects of the Institute. KLEC welcomes Associate Director Dennis Hippert!

A new recruiting tool is available to law enforcement agencies, and it comes with quite a few perks.

The new Military to Law Enforcement (M-2-LE) initiative between the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council (KLEC) and the Department of Defense (DOD) will make it easier for police agencies in the commonwealth to recruit and hire veterans separating from the military.
